Diaccia Botrona

Diaccia Botrona

In front of Le Pettegole del Boschetto, what was formerly Prile Lake, now called Diaccia Botrona, extends as far as Castiglione della Pescaia. The area is one of the most important wetlands in Italy, with a rare ecosystem that is home to microorganisms and species of birds that have chosen this as their breeding ground. Here you can admire ducks, white herons, pink flamingos and stilts, following the birdwatching footpaths or sailing with a guide along the water channels on an organized tour.
