Cala Violina

Cala Violina

Following the coast north, after Punta Ala you reach the entrance to the famous Cala Violina beach, so called for the peculiar violin-like sound coming from the trodden sand when there are no other sounds around. On the left there is a well-signposted entrance leading to the car park (payment required), where you can leave your car and continue walking for about two kilometres through the Maremma scrub to reach the beach. But beware, you certainly won’t be the only ones to have had this idea: Cala Violina is one of the most popular destinations in the area and attracts many tourists. Don’t forget to take everything you need because there are no bars or other facilities at Cala Violina.
